Inclusion Independence Limited Our Story

Inclusion Independence Limited is a Family Run business by Myself and my wife Laura. The organisation was set up back in 2016 when our son and daughter were diagnosed with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder). Prior to the diagnosis i’d just completed my Level 5 Diploma in Health and social care and Laura had completed a degree in Psychology. Upon receiving the diagnosis for both our children we felt that we needed to be able to provide something for our children to access when they grow up. The emphasis was based more on providing something for Leo as at the time of diagnosis he was none verbal and suffered severely with social anxiety. The decision was made to set up Inclusion Independence Limited a care home provision for Adults with Disabilities aged between 18-65 years of Age. When setting up the business we wanted to ensure that families had full involvement in aspects of their children’s care and didn’t feel isolated and unaware of the care being provided.

Aim

Our goal was to try and improve the level of care and support that adults with disabilities receive on a day to day basis. The aim is to provide holistic, personal centred approach providing bespoke packages to meet the specific needs of each individual. Great emphasis is placed on the compatibility of service users and their abilities to live with their peers.

As an organisation we take great pride in our ability to integrate service users into the community with social inclusion being seen as a great way to help improve self-esteem and make them feel part of their local community. We specialise in ASD and learning disabilities in younger adults and are able to provide a variety of placement contracts that not only suites the service user but the family as well. We’re aware how much anxiety transitions can cause and we’re able to provide detailed plans which allow us to observe and create the best possible package to ensure transitions are as smooth as possible.

Homes

We are registered to provide care and supported to living to adults with disabilities aged between 18-65 years of age

All our homes are residential properties with between 3-5 beds, this allows us to focus on 1:1 support and meeting the needs of each individual. We look at the compatibility of service user’s to ensure they can live together therefore reducing anxiety and behaviours which can sometimes be caused by service user’s not getting on.

We want to ensure that all our service users are given the opportunity to be as independent as possible in all areas including all household tasks, shopping, using public transport and shopping. We provide full support in all areas which are fully risk assessed to always ensure their safety. Service users are given full say into the support they receive daily being supported to complete weekly activity and healthy eating plans. Staff complete monthly and annual reviews of progression in each area to ensure we are monitoring each specific area of their care.

Staff

We provide a highly skilled staff team that are able to provide the highest level of care for the service users. When recruiting new staff we try to look at the specific interests of the service user to ensure we’re employing the right type of staff. Care should be seen as a vocation and we try to provide staff with the opportunity to progress within the organisation.
